Delivering a multi-field renovation within an active campus environment required disciplined coordination, adaptable field execution, and proactive stakeholder engagement. Existing field conditions differed from original documentation, requiring real-time grading and drainage modifications to maintain design intent and performance standards. McGuire and Hester leveraged GPS-enabled layout and verification technology to ensure grading precision and system accuracy, minimizing delays while maintaining schedule control.

Environmental stewardship was integrated throughout construction. The team reused existing infrastructure where feasible and optimized earthwork operations to reduce material import and export. Upgraded drainage systems now efficiently manage stormwater across the 6.8-acre site, improving field resiliency and reducing runoff. Turf installation included environmentally responsible infill and carefully prepared subgrades to support long-term performance with reduced maintenance demands. All work was sequenced to protect surrounding campus landscapes and minimize disruption to daily college operations.

As a self-performing contractor, McGuire and Hester maintained direct control over demolition, grading, utilities, concrete, and landscape scopes, resulting in tighter schedule management and seamless trade coordination. Early design-build engagement allowed the team to refine scope, align expectations, and anticipate future campus needs. Underground infrastructure was strategically installed to accommodate future lighting and audio-visual enhancements, ensuring the complex can evolve without major reconstruction.

Weekly on-site collaboration with coaches, campus leadership, and maintenance personnel supported informed decision-making and strengthened long-term partnership.
