Located in French Camp, this multi-phase project is being delivered through a progressive design-build model by the Herrero McGuire and Hester Joint Venture (HMH JV), uniting vertical construction expertise with civil and sitework leadership. Once complete, the campus will provide critical behavioral health services across a thoughtfully planned, healing-centered environment.

Transforming Access: A New Standard for Behavioral Health Facilities

Phase 1 of the BeWell Campus covers 19.17 acres of previously undeveloped land, bounded by South El Dorado Street, West Hospital Road, and Interstate 5. The plan includes the construction of four healthcare buildings, approximately 300 parking stalls, and expansive landscaping with walkways and wellness-oriented outdoor amenities. This scope establishes the foundational infrastructure and public-facing presence of the future campus, paving the way for long-term growth and community use.

The BeWell Campus represents a major step forward in community-based mental health services for San Joaquin County. With up to 335,000 square feet of developable space and a focus on integrated care, the project is designed to improve access to critical behavioral health resources while promoting dignity and healing. The HMH JV’s commitment to quality, collaboration, and innovation ensures that every element, from underground utilities to architectural finishes, supports the mission of holistic wellness.
