City of Woodland Sewer Effluent Emergency Repair
In response to a critical infrastructure failure, McGuire and Hester worked alongside the City of Woodland to complete the emergency replacement of a 30-inch sewer effluent discharge pipeline essential to the community’s wastewater operations. Our team rapidly mobilized to replace a failed section of reinforced concrete pipe with new 30-inch PVC infrastructure, restoring system reliability while maintaining continuous operations. Working under emergency conditions, the team coordinated closely with City staff to deliver a resilient repair that maintained wastewater service, reduced environmental risk, and safeguarded critical infrastructure for the Woodland community.

Protecting Essential Wastewater Infrastructure for the Woodland Community
The failed discharge pipeline represented a critical component of Woodland’s wastewater network, carrying treated effluent from the City’s treatment facilities. Because the entire community depended on the system’s continued operation, repairs had to be completed under emergency conditions without interrupting service. McGuire and Hester developed a strategic construction approach that allowed the damaged pipe to be removed and replaced while maintaining active sewer operations through a temporary bypass system.
Executing emergency utility work during winter conditions introduced additional logistical challenges. The team coordinated closely with City personnel to sequence construction activities, maintain safe site conditions, keep costs down, and reduce the risk of environmental impacts. By replacing the deteriorated reinforced concrete pipe with new PVC infrastructure and tying into the existing steel pipeline system, the project delivered a resilient long-term solution designed to improve reliability and reduce future maintenance concerns.
Beyond restoring critical infrastructure, the project helped prevent the potential discharge of treated wastewater into nearby waterways, protecting local environmental resources and public health. The result of these improvements is a renewed section of essential wastewater infrastructure that supports the City of Woodland’s ongoing commitment to reliable public services and environmental stewardship.
